Supper is made by Will Feldman. This page explains how Supper handles information when you use the app and this website.

What stays with your kitchen

Your pantry, preferences, shopping list, recipes, conversation, and cooking progress are stored in the app. Supper uses your private iCloud storage to sync your kitchen and generated photos when iCloud is available. Apple manages your iCloud account and storage.

When you ask for AI help

Supper asks for your permission before sending content for AI processing. You can decline and continue using your local pantry and saved recipes, or turn off AI sharing in Settings to stop future AI requests.

Supper sends the information needed for your request through its server, hosted by Vercel, to OpenAI. This can include a receipt photo you choose to scan; your question, pantry, and food preferences; and the current recipe and relevant conversation. To keep step illustrations consistent, recipe instructions and previously generated photos may also be sent as visual references.

Receipts can contain personal information. Crop anything you don’t want to send before scanning. Food preferences and allergies you enter are included when relevant to generating recipes.

Supper requests that OpenAI not store Responses API response objects. This setting does not eliminate all provider processing or security retention. OpenAI and Vercel may process operational data under their own policies.

Photos and storage

Generated photos are kept with your kitchen and downloaded when needed. The app keeps up to 100 MB of recently downloaded photos ready locally. Clearing the photo cache in Settings keeps your recipes and the original photos; it removes eligible downloaded copies.

Service logs

The server records technical information such as operation names, model names, token counts, and error status to operate and improve the service. Supper’s application logs do not intentionally record receipt contents, prompts, or access credentials. Hosting providers may also process network information such as IP addresses.

Subscriptions

Apple processes App Store purchases. Supper uses Apple’s purchase status to determine subscription access. Supper does not receive your payment card details.

Optional usage analytics

If you enable “Help improve Supper” during setup or in Settings, Supper sends predefined app actions (such as opening a tab, scanning a receipt, saving a recipe, finishing cooking, or completing a subscription purchase), item counts, app version, event times, and random installation and session identifiers to our Vercel server and Neon database. This helps us understand feature usage and improve the app. Analytics never includes chat text, photos, ingredient names, recipe content, allergies, food preferences, advertising identifiers, or precise location. We do not join analytics identifiers to subscription or iCloud records, sell this data, or use it for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps.

AI-sharing permission and usage analytics are separate choices. Allowing AI processing does not enable analytics. Analytics is off until you choose to enable it. Turning it off stops collection and clears unsent events; enabling it again creates a new identifier. Records are excluded from reports after 90 days and removed on the next analytics collection after that period. TestFlight and development activity are separated from App Store activity. Apple also provides its own App Store and TestFlight reports under your Apple privacy choices.

This website

This landing page does not use advertising trackers or a mailing-list form. Its hosting provider processes the requests needed to deliver the site. App screens use example data, and lifestyle images show fictional AI-generated scenes.

Your choices

You can edit or remove pantry items and saved recipes in the app and adjust food preferences in Settings. You can manage Supper’s iCloud data through Apple’s iCloud storage settings. Removing the app alone may not remove its iCloud data. Apple manages subscription cancellation in your Apple Account settings.

Beta feedback

Open Supper in TestFlight and choose Send Beta Feedback to contact the developer. Avoid including sensitive receipt or dietary information unless it is necessary for your request.
